Surely, the idea of a bloke of my age and stance professing self-love and desires to be better as a person is one that is not farfetched, for this is regarded as more of the basic instinct of every human. Love Thy Neighbor as Thy Self.

Yet, the lover I found, although drawing from that pool of instinct, has a little something more.

Growing to know myself better has aided me with certain characteristic knowledge that not only frightens me but also poses a threat to my immediate future.

Before your thoughts get twisted in the wind, let me fill you in.

Carrying a mentality of being that average kid in everything that can be publically declared an activity to engage in, I ended up at the doorway of laziness and reluctance to even try anything. I bunked right where “waiting till the last minute” dwelled, saddled the horses of procrastination and rode gallantly into being a cheerful waster of opportunities, talents, and the skillsets availed me.

I watched how my circle of friends/peers continued to fudge on into making a trademark of and for themselves while I remained on a spot. Sounds familiar?

Well, this really isn’t just my story and as a matter of fact, could be yours too (in certain areas).

The thing is, being lazy came with some degree of complacency and all began to seem just fine as they were. Until I met my lover.

She happens to be that intangible fragment of hope and self that keeps yearning for the great turn around. One who is knowledgeable of how deeply buried I have been, beneath the web I weaved and stock too. Yet, my lover keeps cling to that silver lining; as though it were a strand of cord that leads a blind man out of the tunnels into the airy space.

You see; being lazy has been one enjoyable affair I know how to sustain well, but true love has come knocking with a promise of refinement and relevance.

I choose love; as should you.
